Thom Dahlin
I was very lucky to have grown up in this most beautiful of states – Vermont! Born in Middlebury, I moved with my family to Newfane in 1958. I still live in this spectacularly picturesque town with Gregg, my partner of 48 years. I attended Johnson College in northern Vermont, then spent a semester in Cap D’Ail France, where I studied French and Theater. Next, for a change of pace, I transferred to The College of The Virgin Islands in St. Thomas, where, I majored in snorkeling and warm sand! I ultimately graduated from Castleton College in 1977 with a B.A. in Theater Arts. It turns out that my theater education was a perfect platform for the next part of my life – the incredibly demanding and equally rewarding restaurant business.
My partner and I have owned two restaurants in Brattleboro: Tafts and Peter Havens. Both were very busy, very successful, highly acclaimed eateries. They provided me with a great creative outlet and were an incredible learning experience. Having enjoyed enormous support from a very loyal clientele, I never felt like I went “to work” a day in my life. We sold Peter Havens in 2012, and I am now thrilled to have gotten my Real Estate License, thus fulfilling a dream I’ve had for 35 years! We have bought and sold nearly a dozen homes and income properties over the years, and I thoroughly enjoy the process.
Throughout my business career, I have learned that in order to be successful with any endeavor, I must listen carefully, be prepared, be punctual and show up with as much drive, focus, and energy as my clients – if not more so! I look forward to a long association with my Berkley Veller Greenwood Country family, and I look forward to meeting with you very soon.
Best, Thom
